Dee Joined the ARC team in March 2020 covering Laura as Assistant Manager during her maternity leave. Upon Laura’s return Dee decided to continue devising and delivering imaginative activities as a full time Activities Coordinator.
After graduating from Westminster University with a degree in illustration, Dee spent four years teaching English and freelancing in Japan as an editorial illustrator. Upon return she worked in marketing as a Graphic Designer, embracing digital art along with more traditional painting skills.
Dee has extensive work experience and training in social care providing support to individuals with learning disabilities and other complex needs.
Trained as a teacher in lifelong learning, she has freelance experience preparing and delivering engaging creative sessions to people of all ages, designed to be client group appropriate.
Dee has led a number of art and social enterprise workshops across Sussex as well as running therapeutic art sessions in respite daycare, at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, and at elderly day services and dementia care units in Sussex. Her workshops provide a rich, immersive, and highly rewarding addition to enhance patients’ experience in hospital and care environments.
Having completed a Masters in Inclusive Arts Practice at the University of Brighton, Dee hopes to extend her collaborative working and facilitation skills by reaching the needs of vulnerable individuals and community groups.
Dee’s role provides advice and practical support to help maximise individual skills to meet the needs of each tenant.
